Baby on my mind

I cannot stop thinking about my baby boy. I spend hours online trying to find the best carseat, crib, etc. Those are just the material things though. I am mostly excited to see my little guys face. I want to know what he will look like, and what his personality will be. I can't wait to have his little hands hold onto mine. Everything at my doctors appointments looks great. Now we just have to wait. So hopefully I can make it through 9 more weeks of non-stop baby thoughts. (And hopefully Dave doesn't get too sick of hearing about every feature of every baby product.)

Christmas was great! Sadly I didn't get a ton of pictures, but here are a few.

We had a fun New Year's with some friends. They guys cooked us steaks and then we played the Wii and just hung out. It's crazy to think of last year and how quickly it went and everything I learned from 2011.

What a week

Tuesday- I took my last final and walked off campus with a huge smile on my face! Then later than night our friends Nate and Vicki had their sweet baby girl Josslyn.

Wednesday- Our friends Tom and Nicole were married! It was so nice to be at their sealing and be reminded of the wonderful promises of the gospel!

Thursday- Dave and I celebrated our 4th anniversary!!! Dave had a work party so we went to that and had delicious fondue. Then we headed to Zermatt resort in Midway. What a beautiful place!

Friday- To celebrate we went shopping at the outlets, went to Sherlock Holmes, and out to eat at our favorite restaurant. It was so great to have some time with Dave, my best friend! I am so lucky to be married to Him:) Also on Friday, baby and me made it 6 months! More than half way. Wahoo!!!

Saturday- We started to paint the nursery! Big thanks to Dave for going with my ideas. It turned out AMAZING!!! We still need to get the crib and a few other things, but we wanted to get the hard job out of the way before Dave went back to school and work. Saturday was also my Dad's Birthday! Love you Dad:)

Sunday- I am the ward choir director and we sang for Christmas. Later that night we went to a cookie exchange/game night at my Uncle Steve's. I loved playing house of fire with everyone. My cute little cousin Ryanne wanted to be on my team the whole time. We did win a few times, but the real winners were her parents. Wade and Marci were at the head table for 5 rounds! It was a great night with family.

Monday- Finished painting and hung out at home.(Did A LOT of crocheting for Christmas) Then we had our ward FHE cleaning the church.

Crazy week, but it was so great. I am so blessed to have amazing friends, and family. It really is the most wonderful time of the year!!! Sorry no pictures and lots of writing, I guess this post is more for me.

20 weeks!

Holy smokes this first 20 weeks went so fast! I can't believe it! Pregnancy has been good to me though. I haven't been too sick or had any crazy cravings. When I got to 19 weeks I grew a belly overnight. Dave would see me looking at my tummy in the mirror and just laugh. He kept saying "It's just funny." Luckily he added "But cute too". I am starting to realize that having a baby really does change your body a lot. Luckily it's for a great cause. For somewhat silly reasons (wives tales, Chinese calendar etc..) I have been dead set on thinking I was having a girl.

But, SURPRISE!!!! IT'S A BOY:) We are so blessed to be able to have this little guy in our family and can't wait to meet him!

Hello fellow bloggers. I haven't updated FOREVER. I don't want to bore you with too many details, so I will cut to the important stuff. We came home early from selling in Texas so that Dave could study for the GMAT, and look for accounting jobs. Luckily everything worked out! He got into the MBA program at USU and is working hard at that. He will be finished in June and will be able to start studying for those dang CPA exams. He also was offered a job with a new accounting firm. He will be merging his clients with the firm Lunsford and Peck. We are so excited about this new adventure and grateful that Dave can work with some amazing people. I will be done with school in December, and can't wait to be a graduate! We are staying busy, and having some fun along the way:)

Hey everyone! I don't even know who reads this blog, but if you do thanks! I haven't updated for a long time so I thought I would fill you in on our lives. Houston has been great. We have been here a few weeks now, and are settled. We also mostly know our way around. The first summer event was Dave's 27th Birthday! Love him and his 27 years of pure awesomeness!

When summer sales starts I have ALOT of time to kill without Dave. Which is a huge bummer! Luckily there are some fun wives here to hang out with. We try to keep busy so that the days go by faster. Sadly I don't have a picture of all of us together yet, but here are some pics of what we have been doing. Disclaimer: these pictures make it seem like we are party animals just having fun everyday, but don't worry there are plenty of days that I just read a book, crochet, watch TV and just do nothing.

Oregon Trip

My sister-in-law and I were able to go to Oregon last weekend. One of my friends was getting married and Brooke's family lives in OR. We had a great time! The only thing that was bad was that I forgot my camera!!! Here are some pictures that I took with my phone.

Lately Dave and I have been doing some fun stuff. We have been trying to stay out of the Winter blues that often hit people in Cache Valley. I have to say though, the snow this year is actually kind of nice. It was such a good Thanksgiving weekend to just RELAX! Being snowed in while watching movies and making crafts is actually exactly what I needed over the break. I get so busy with school that it is so nice to just chill out every once in a while.

I decided to do something nice for Dave to show him my appreciation for always being there for me. Isn't it great that if you do something nice for someone else they usually do something nice back for you? So I got us Jazz tickets. Upper bowl, but still it was so fun and definitely worth the trip down.

I have been having the best time with the 3rd graders these last few weeks. They really are so cute. Don't get me wrong, it can get rather annoying when they have a comment or story about EVERYTHING. But, in the end they always make a comeback. Like when one of the girls said to me "Mrs. Brown that is the most favorite coat I have ever seen! Where did you get it?" haha I just love them! I started this competition for them where they can earn points as a table. When they do something good they get a pebble in their fishbowl. Then the group with the most pebbles on my last day gets to eat lunch with me. It's so flattering, but they really do love eating lunch with the teacher. I can't wait to have my own classroom, and it will be great to get paid too!

Something else that Dave and I have been doing is setting up the official offices of Brown and Bassett! Dave was able to find an office space in the clock tower plaza in Logan. He did the Dave thing and smooth talked his way into a really good deal for rent. But hey, who wouldn't to save a little money. I'm so excited for Dave and Jake and this new adventure!

Halloween

This year we spent Halloween at Disneyland! It was a quick trip (Thurs-Sun), but it was well worth it! We spent most of our time in the parks, riding the rides, shopping, and eating. We had so much fun!!

APX Events

Last weekend we celebrated this summer with APX. We had a dinner with our office, a black tie party with our region ( I think it was more than one region though b/c there literally were 1000 people there), and then APX hosted Nitro Circus for all employees and family members of employees.

Warning this is a long post!

When I got back from TX I had some time before school to drive out to Cali with my sister. It was so fun to be able to spend time with her. She really is my best friend, and she makes me laugh constantly. Love you Tay.

When Dave got home we were able to spend time with the Browns in Island Park. We loved sitting around playing games, jet skiing, and eating:) We had a great time and can't wait for 2012.

We also were able to go camping Labor Day weekend with my family. We stayed up by Tony's Grove. We relaxed, went to Minnetonka Cave, and rafted on Tony Grove Lake.

Okay so after all that fun I had to go back to school. Check out this stack of books!

And last but not least my Mom and I went to Time Out for Women hosted by Deseret Book. It was so amazing. It's a conference with wonderful speakers and musicians. It made us laugh, cry, and really evaluate our lives and how we can be doing better. I loved every minute of it.

So Long to The Lonestar State

Well everyone my plans have changed and I am heading home this Sunday! It's crazy how soon that is. This summer really has been so fun, and we have made some great friends. Dave has done so well with selling and I am way proud of him. I am so extremely grateful for how good he treats me and how willing he is to support us. So I will have 2 1/2 weeks without Dave, which isn't very fun, but it will be good for me to get settled in before school. We have some fun plans for Saturday so I will post some pictures! We are so grateful for this experience and hope to continue to be successful in the future. Can't wait to see everyone!!!!

Summer Life

Hey everyone! Just wanted to give an update on our life in Amarillo. Dave is still working hard with sales, yesterday he hit 75! Which makes us that much closer to our goal. It's been hot here in Texas, but very windy. We have started watching Lost at night, which we love, but it's not so good for us because we loose track of time and don't notice till it's 2 A.M. Good thing we can sleep in :) Then I wake up with dreams of being on a ship lost at sea. hahaha!!!!

We've done some fun stuff here in Amarillo. A few more things on my list are a couple of museums, Wonderland amusement park, Splash water park, and a few famous Amarillo restaurants. There is a restaurant here that you can order a 72 oz steak! I have heard that out of 48,000 people only 8,000 have been able to finish it. Then there is another place called Coyote Bluff Cafe, it's a run down little place that has great burgers. It's been on a few shows on TV. Every time we try to go the place it way crowded, which doesn't suprise me! It's literally about as big as a snowcone shack! But hey those are usually the best places.

Well life is good, but we are excited to come home to Utah. The countdown has begun 36 days and we will be packing up!!!

Amarillo

Today it is rainy in Amarillo, and it has been for the last few days. I was excited to leave Midland, but now I kind of want to go back. It was so hot there, and I loved it!

Midland Sky

It has been a little bit interesting moving in here. We haven't had any furniture and some other stuff like washer and dryer, and a microwave. We have been doing fine without these items until Dave tried to make some nachos using the oven. ha ha so funny!

Every summer each APX office is involved in a service project. We were able to do some gardening at a food bank. It was good to take some time to help others.

Other than that we have been just hanging out and enjoying the summer. Can't believe it's already half over!

Summertime

This summer has been so much fun so far! I could write about everything, but it would basically be a novel. So here are pictures of what has been happening this summer.

Dave graduated and had his 26th Birthday!

Texas

Well we have been in Texas for about a week and half now. We are having a great time! Dave is doing well with sales and I am enjoying the home life.

The weather was crazy when we first arrived. This is a video of Dave trying to drive to his area to sell.

After 2 or 3 tornado warnings the weather has finally gone back to normal. Tuesday I even got a little sunburn. We are glad to be here and feel so blessed that all is going well. Here is a picture of our apartment. I will try to post more pictures soon, but it might be hard because my camera broke! SAD!!!!!

Other good news, I passed my PRAXIS test!!! I was so excited! Or as Dad would say the "Practice" test.

Graduation Presents

My parents and I were at lunch the other day and we got talking about my little brother Jesse graduating. Then my parents asked if I got a high school graduation present, I said ya we went on a trip! But I guess that wasn't the present. So my parents said I could get my present now. And this is what I got. ( Thanks Mom and Dad!)

I have sewn a few things before, and I love it! My mom is a very talented seamstress and I am excited to learn from her. I have done one project already. Here is the proof that I can in fact be self-reliant!

This saturday I took the PRAXIS test. It's and elementary education content knowledge test. I had to take in at Weber state since Utah state was full (Lets just say there are ALOT of people in the education program). Luckily my brother Riley let me stay the night at his house in Layton because I had to be there at 7:30 A.M. Thanks again you guys!! Overall I think it went pretty good! But I wont know for six weeks. What a lovely wait that will be.

What's been going on..

Friday night I drove down with my dear old Kads to Clinton, Utah where Lindsay and family will be living. It was a good time. Rach was as cute as I remember, Mason as silly, and Connor as candy loving! oh and Adds well she is the same old Addy. Luckily Aunt Lori made a delicious dinner because moving makes you hungry. Thanks Lori!!

Then on Saturday we had the Brown girls spring fling. It was so fun! We had a delicious lunch, made necklaces, and played Grams famous party games. They are so fun I love them! It was so great to just sit around and enjoy spring!

Silly Assignments

Hello everyone,

I wanted to post on the silly assignments that my professors make me do. Usually I complain about them, procrastinate them, complete them and then when all is said and done I laugh at them and love them. Here is a funny video that my and my friend Mari had to make in our technology class. It had to be a "How-To" video and it had to be about 5 minutes long. So if it's too long to watch I won't be offended, but I will say it turned out pretty good. Ha ha the things they make you do in the Education program.

Spring Break Getaway

We had a blast this spring break! We started our trip in San Diego with Mike, Tay, and Dawson. We had so much fun at La Jolla Cove. (I have decided it's one of my new favorite places). We also got to spend some time shopping, swimming, and just having fun. Then we all drove up to Anaheim where my parents and Jesse met us. We just had such a fun time.

Time seems to be going faster and faster. Although I have to admit that sometimes I don't really mind. Like when I have to wake up at 6:30 to go to school, or when I finally convince myself to start cleaning. There are some things I just can't believe like how my little brother is 18 and on his way to graduating high school. OR how fast my nieces and nephew grow. OR that fact that I have been graduated for about 3 years. OR that we moved to DC 2 years ago. WOW!!! Where does time go. Sometimes it creeps me out, especially when I can't even remember what I ate for dinner last night, or when I wake up and it is Sunday and I could have sworn that I was just in church, or how much time has passed since I last updated my blog! ha ha

It has been a way long time since I met my best friend Aly. We were in first grade so six or seven years old. I wish I had that moment on video when I spelled the word you're correctly and I guess Aly was impressed so we became friends. We have had some awesome times together! And will have plenty more! She has always been such a great friend and an example to me. I love when you can truly be yourself around people. That's always how it is will Al, always a good time filled with laughs, reading each others minds(kind of), and singing random songs that we made up when we were younger, believe me there are plenty. Now we are both old and married. Ah time fly's.....

I have the best husband ever. He truly is my best friend and the love of my life. It's so nice to come home to someone who loves you and treats you like a princess. Dave and I have been married just over 2 years now, and I couldn't be happier. Our time together has been so amazing and I am looking forward to even more fun times.

This year for Valentines Day I was so excited about Dave's gift. I got him a remote control helicopter. I thought I was going to have the best present to give. But once again he spoiled me and made me the happiest girl alive. He handed me an envelope, at first I thought it was shopping money (always a plus) but I opened it and it was a voucher for Disneyland!!!!!!! I couldn't contain my excitement. Dave and I are going to California during spring break to meet up with Mike, Tay and Dawson. Oh man I am so excited. Dave and I have so much fun traveling together! I really didn't see it coming, because trips can be expensive. But thanks to Brown and Bassett we got a great tax return. Thanks Dave for the amazing gift! Next year I'll try to get something a little better than a helicopter!

Substitue

I am going to school to be an elementary school teacher. And I get to spend time in elementary schools as part of my credits. Well today my host teacher was sick. She sent a sub, but since I have been there for 3 weeks now I know the schedule a little better. So today I was the substitute! It was crazy, but a good experience! I'm surprised I made it through and the students actually learned something. (Hopefully!) I just love kidlets, they are so cute, and so funny!

I Love to see the Temple.....

We took a trip down to the Salt Lake Temple with some of the couples in our ward. It's so nice to always have somewhere to go where you can instantly feel the spirit. Dave and I love traveling and taking adventures, but we are always reminded of the wonderful place we live.
